Hello and welcome to my entry for the combat surf mapping contest by mini.
After weeks of intense polishing with a focus on gameplay, fun and competitiveness, I can finally say: The map is finished! I had great fun creating this map and testing it with you - the community.
Many have helped me by playtesting and giving me feedback, but now I am finally satisfied with the result.
The map features:

-64 player spawns
-ESL-styled color scheme
-absolutely competitive feeling
-carefully modeled ramps
-automated weapon spawns
-large skybox
-balanced air and ground combat
-perfectly adjusted boosts
-a unique jail
-an incredibly cinematic SECRET!

Some important places are listed here:
The spawn is split into two areas; one octagon for each team, both have the same set of basic weaponry.
The jail can be escaped in different ways and offers a few hidden tasks.
The telelake and its three towers are keeping a great secret, but be careful; the ground can get you in unwanted situations, making you easy prey for more skilled surfers.
The platforms are floating above the action, providing you with weapons as you reach them. Be careful - they are see-through!
The accelerator is a ring of ramps with small boosts, giving you the opportunity to gain some velocity for the battle.
The launching board is your first choice to regain height, as it boosts you up into the skies.
The weapons spawning in the map were carefully chosen to support balanced gameplay, focussing on pistols, basic rifles, shotguns and SMGs. Only a single weapon differs from the rest...
surf_sportsarena can even be played in bomb defusal mode, a centered planting point can be found and accessed easily - better make sure the enemy team is distracted!
Fall damage is optional, as there are several water planes to safely land in at the most important places. This will allow a larger variety of servers to include this map in their pool.
Legal note: Do not upload this map to any other website (including steam), as I intent to do so myself one year after the contest has ended.
You may upload modified versions starting from Juli 2018 as long as you give credit to the original creator by linking to his steam profile.
