Charge Power Slash from protected ground

Power Slash becomes stronger as Yamato completes its charge, but she moves slowly during the preparation. Begin behind a corner, on high ground or while an ally holds the target's attention. Charging in the centre of a lane tells every opponent where the strike will come from and gives them time to break sight.

The strongest charge is not always required. Release earlier when the target is about to leave the line, when control is approaching or when a shorter hit is enough to continue the attack. Holding for maximum power after the opportunity has disappeared turns the ability into lost time. The correct release is the one that connects without giving away Yamato's position.

Aim through the route the enemy is taking rather than at the model's current centre. A retreating hero moves during the charge. Predict the doorway, stair or side of cover that the opponent must cross. This keeps the slash useful as a threat even if the enemy chooses not to enter that line.

Flying Strike is a commitment with a cancel option

Flying Strike attaches Yamato to an enemy and carries her toward that target. Check who stands behind the selected hero before using it. The closest opponent may be bait positioned in front of several teammates. A good grapple closes distance on someone already separated or follows movement that has left the enemy without support.

Yamato can cancel the connection during the flight. Use that option when the destination changes: reinforcements appear, the target crosses into a defended area or the camera reveals a hazard that was hidden when the ability was activated. Cancelling does not produce the damaging slash, but losing that damage is better than completing a hopeless approach.

Keep one movement route in mind after arrival. Flying Strike solves distance, not survival. Land near a wall that can break sight, a corner for a retreat or an ally who can protect the next exchange. If none of those exists, continue firing from range and wait for a cleaner connection.

Crimson Slash turns contact into endurance

Crimson Slash hits around Yamato, slows enemies and restores health. It is most valuable after she reaches close range and can affect the opponent who intends to fight back. Activating it too early leaves the heal and slow behind the target. Wait until the enemy is committed to the same small area.

The health return supports another action but does not erase all incoming damage. Watch Yamato's current health before entering. A small recovery cannot compensate for several opponents focusing her at once. Use the slow to move toward cover or improve the next Power Slash angle instead of standing still to trade every hit.

Against more than one nearby enemy, the ability can create room without making all of them equal targets. Choose which hero must remain slowed and which direction Yamato will leave. Spreading attention across everyone usually wastes the short control window. One path and one opponent keep the sequence understandable.

Shadow Transformation protects a planned finish

Shadow Transformation makes Yamato unstoppable for a short period and accelerates the use of her abilities. Activate it when control would otherwise interrupt a prepared finish, or when the team has created enough pressure to keep the target nearby. Using it far from combat spends valuable time on the approach.

Unstoppable status does not mean every source of damage can be ignored. Yamato still needs a target, cover and a decision for the end of the effect. Track the duration through the visible state and begin moving toward safety before it expires. Waiting for the final instant can leave no time to cross the next wall or corner.

A disciplined Yamato prepares Power Slash from cover, checks the space behind a Flying Strike target, uses Crimson Slash after contact and transforms for the dangerous part of the finish. Sometimes the enemy response changes that order. The central rule remains: every movement toward the opponent must be matched by a place to stand or retreat when the ability ends.
